Killing the Giant when he is small.
In this podcast I talk about getting a grip on our thought life before they get out of control. Limiting thoughts and and beliefs start out small, but over time, they can grow into giants. The Kingdom Key is to deal with them before they become unmanageable.
We often say that the bible is hte word of God. However Jesus is the real Word of God (John 1:1-14). If we meditate on what God spoke, it is like going backward through the word to the father. God spoke the word out, and we read and meditate upon the Word to approach the Father.
Think about how Take a moment to think about how we cannot get to the father except we go through the word first .
I have learned that when we rehearse scripture with our conscious mind like an hourglass it drops down into our heart and becomes part of our internal monologue. As a man thinks in his heart so is he (Proverbs 23:7). This is how we make the tree good in there for its fruit (Matt 12:33).

It was found that the average person has about 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day. Of those thousands of thoughts, 80% were negative, and 95% were exactly the same repetitive thoughts as the day before.
We can therefore pretty easily infer that we are perpetuating what we think. It's easy enough to deal with this toxic thought in the very beginning stages. Those thoughts are somewhat like a spider web strings, but as we keep rehearsing them they can grow to become steel cables. These steel cables of unhealthy toxic thoughts can lead to harmful actions. This is why I emphasize that it is important to kill the giant when he is small. In other words, we need to cut off those thoughts early before they get out of control
I started to believe that no one cared about my situation. Or that no one understood . And I walked down that primrose path to where I would stay in bed for three days . This happened for a few years. It took me a long time to climb out of that depression. Knowing what I know now, I see that it's important to deal with the root of the problem before it springs up and causes a huge mess.
If a person has the unbiblical thought of worry it can perpetuate and most likely will. This unbiblical thought of worry takes on a life of its own. It then becomes an emotion . This emotion of worry will eventually lead to manifesting as a physical feeling. This feeling may turn into extra stomach acid. This extra secretion of stomach acid can then turn into an ulcer. Isn't it interesting that this is how ulcers start? The initial unbiblical thought of worry can kick it all off.
I have known people that have died early because they let worry get ahold of them. Keep in mind that fear is the opposite of faith. We need to catch this thought early before it gets out of control and starts controlling us. We need to replace the unbiblical thought with what the word of God says.
David encouraged himself in what God said about him. David was to be a king and he was to deliver Israel. I believe that David rehearsed that over and over and shored up his faith . He sought God about what to do and then he acted accordingly. The story goes on that David recovered all without fail.
It is possible that David was thinking about an earlier president in scripture in the book of Joshua. Joshua was leading Israel into the promised land and all of the sudden the entire congregation was powerless before the small people of AI. Joshua two had a pity party we can see this in Joshua chapter seven. It's kind of surprising that when we read this passage it makes Joshua sound like one of the unbelievers that died in the wilderness.
God tells Joshua to get up off of his face and do something about it. So Joshua did start out with a pity party then he decided to seek God. When he had his conversation with God , God gave him his marching orders. Notice that David and Joshua were both in similar situations. We can learn from that.
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; (2Co 10:4-5)
What I mean by 'personal revelation'.
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. (Joh 16:13)
A lot of people freak out when I say the word “revelation”. They think I am talking about writing a new bible or something. That is seriously not the case. I am talking about what the Spirit of Truth reveals to us. When you read or meditate on a verse and then you have a spiritual epiphany! So when I am talking about revelation, I am talking about how the spirit of truth guides believers into all truth.
Making Inferences from Scripture
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. (Rom 8:7)
The carnal mind can THINK it is learning from scripture and be exactly right. Or Exactly wrong. The bible mentions in a few places that the carnal mind cannot grasp the things of the spirit. It is at enmity with the spirit. Spiritual things are spiritually discerned. However, until we develop this spiritual relationship and get some footing with the things of the spirit, we start out operating in the futility of our mind. But you have to start somewhere.
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. (1Co 2:13-15)
Discerning the Spirit via the Word
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)
As we venture into the spirit via the word, we can see that the bible lays itself out to interpret itself often times. As we read the text or as we exercise what scripture says to do, the Spirit guides us into all truth.
The Word of God can discern he difference between our own soul and the spirit. This is why we need to know the Word of God intimately.

Learning to Discern by exercising the Word!
For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. (Hebrews 5:13-14)
When we USE what we have learned, we have our senses exercised to discern good from evil. We learn as we go where the spirit is leading. He guides our steps. We can also learn from our mistakes. This learning can be as simple as following good and not evil.
Jesus is THE WAY to the Father
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)
God is a spirit, and those that worship Him must do so in spirit and in truth. This is a spiritual endeavor. God, the spirit, breathed the Word out to create the heavens and the earth. The Word created every thing (John 1:3).

Mentors and Signs of a Believer
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. (Mar 16:17-18)
I am a firm believer of having mentors that have evidence of their supernatural relationship with God. If they have no Mark 16 signs of a believer evident in their lives, then I am not going to give much weight to what they say. I hold to this even if they know the text of the bible well.
Consider this. Saul knew the bible very well before he had the Holy Spirit, but he was killing Christians with all his head knowledge. He thought he was doing God a service (Jesus prophesied this in John chapter 16:2) It was only after Saul/Paul was filled with the Holy Spirit that he had the signs following That Jesus guarantees in Mark chapter 16.
I personally believe that God sends us mentors when we are ready for them. We need to be on the lookout for the signs of a believer in operation in their lives. Why would we want to follow someone that doesn't believe?

There are many verses about rehearsing scripture all the time. Morning noon and night. We're supposed to have scripture on our doorposts, as frontlets between our eyes, and talk about it all day.

My Take on Two or Three Witnesses
But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. (Mat 18:16)
I often talk about having two or three witnesses or confirmations. When it comes to scripture I exercise caution.
I do not think that one person saying the same thing twice Can be considered two witnesses. That is the same person saying the same thing twice. Even if it is found in different letters to different churches, it still the same person that said it.
I do not think that one person quoting another person can be considered two witnesses. This is simply one person quoting another person. The original person was the first witness. The other person is simply quoting him.
I do however believe that two different authors saying the same thing two different ways is considered two different witnesses. I am cautious in this area because I don't wanna get it wrong. Maybe I am exercising too much caution .

My bout with depression
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;(2Co 10:5)
I learned this lesson through experience and inferring it from scripture. When the thoughts of depression originally started creeping into my thought life I wasn't really aware of the option to cast down that vain imagination and to correct my thinking quickly. I began to agree with the lies of the devil. Like when Satan deceived Eve and got her to doubt the Word of God.
I started to believe that no one cared about my situation. Or that no one understood . And I walked down that primrose path to where I would stay in bed for three days . This happened for a few years. It took me a long time to climb out of that depression. Mat 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Our thoughts precede emotions. Emotions lead to physical feelings. These physical feelings can lead to disease.

King David and Joshua for our Example
And the LORD said unto Joshua, Get thee up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face?(Jos 7:10)
King David was about to be stoned by the very people he was trying to help. They had lost their families, their children, their wives, and much more. David began to have a pity party. It then occurred to David to encourage himself in the Lord his God. David sought God about what to do. Notice that David didn't spend years in depression nor did David hire A therapist.

We must be Proactive in Our Thought Life
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.(Rom 12:2)
