Ask yourself where you are on the love scale after pondering these passages.
After Israel made idols Moses interceded for them...
Exodus 32:30-32 And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin. (31) And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold. (32) Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.
He put himself on the line to be "blotted out" of the book for the sake of his rebellious brethren!
Saul of Tarsus was willing to be 'accursed from Christ' for his brethren's sake!
Romans 9:1-3 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, (2) That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. (3) For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
Then there is Jesus. Who died for us while we were SINNERS!
Romans 5:7-8 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. (8) But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
These passages cause me to 'count the cost' for sure! How about you?
